The Library at Cedar Creek Lake

The Library at Cedar Creek Lake is located at 410 E. Cedar Creek Parkway in Seven Points, Texas 75143. The Library serves all communities around the Greater Cedar Creek Area. It is run by a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and provides free services to all residents living within its service area which includes Kemp, Scurry, Tolosa, and Mabank in Kaufman County, Eustace, Gun Barrel City, Caney City, Log Cabin, Malakoff, Payne Springs, Tool, and Trinidad in Henderson County and parts of Van Zandt county. 

The library holds over 42,000 items including books, compact discs, cassette tapes and books on cassette and other audio-visual materials. Last year, the library logged more than 100,000 visits to our facility by patrons who were checking out books and movies, attending story hours, community events and browsing Internet using our broadband and wireless connections. 


Mission

The Library is a resource center that provides library materials and services, promotes and assists in educational development and encourages reading by:

  • providing programs and activities that cater to the needs of all our citizens across age, gender and other differences (e.g. summer reading programs, story hour for children, programs of older citizens, teens and young adults). Library
  • providing a venue for people to meet, interact, learn and exchange ideas and information and grow.
  • providing a forum to enjoy and appreciate cultural events, performances, etc.
  • instruction in adult literacy, GED, English as a second language, computer, financial, health and nutrition literacy.
  • organizing health, technology and science fairs, concerts, and art and craft exhibitions.
  • providing outreach services (e.g. head start programs, and programs for home-bound and shut-ins.)
  • working with Best Friends, Literacy Council, Kiwanis, Rotary and the Optimists Clubs and other civic organizations to promote reading, learning and cultural and intellectual developments.
  • maintaining up to date technology.
