Cedar Creek Lake residents and visitors can now step inside a new world of imagination and knowledge at the area’s new Book Store in Malakoff, Texas. Bookish is one of the latest new shops to open in old downton Malakoff!
Jen and husband Tom Sherman opened a unique book store and internet café concept in March 2020! The new retail shop is lovingly called ‘Bookish’ named after Jen’s hugely popular Instagram site known as The Bookish Blonde.
Having acquired over 20,000 followers, Jen brings her love for all things books and her gift for sharing them to her soon-to-open quaint store-front located at 211 South Terry Street offering all kinds of new and highly discounted, affordable used books for all. The new retail shop also offers great deal on new books as well!
“ Tom and I wanted to share something special for our lake-area community so we bought this old building in the Malakoff town center and are transforming it into an artsy, modernized space for people to relax, communicate, sip coffee and enjoy each other’s company,” explained new owner Jen Sherman. The space will be liberally outfitted with the latest technology for internet Wi-Fi, charging stations, comfortable seating areas and more. This is the kind of place you’ll want to come and stay for a while. A place where you’ll want to rendezvous with friends and meet new ones.
The idea behind Bookish is also to enable customers to host private events in the extra back room. BookishSpaces is located behind the reading and book shelf areas. And the stylish venue just happens to be located next to Malakoff’s popular HF Family Market & Table Restaurant serving top line meals, fine wines and craft beers along with full catering services. This makes the Bookish event venue an attractive destination potential for wedding and rehearsal dinners, corporate meetings or other private parties and events.
